Wave is Billy x Abby. She is one of 8 from a very dynamic breeding. Most of the kids from this breeding are extremely fast, athletic and light on their feet, with a stride that lends itself to a perfect running A frame and very competitive times. Marcy and Wave have worked diligently in herding, agility and obedience. At barely 4 years of age this team has been burning it up nationally. Marcy and Wave won the 12 inch challenger round at the AKC national championship, and went on to finals round placing 2nd overall for 2007. This was their first trip to the championship! Marcy and Wave will try out for the world agility team in May, 2007. We will be cheering their efforts. In addition to agility, this pair has done obedience and herding. At just 10 months wave earned her HT on ducks. She also earned her CD as a youngster. In adition to their athletic feats, Marcy and Wave are credited with coining the a-licious name for the sheltieranch kids, many of whom now adorn this honor. Soooooo...Marcy and Wave-a-licious. ..we are enthusiastically watching you two and cheering you on!


MACh4, U-ACHX Plails Hi Impact, "Keith"

Keith is a Chase son out of Gabby .   Keith earned his first MACH on January 7, 2006 and his second MACH on August 20, 2006. He is well over half way in both double Q's and Mach points for his MACH 3. In UKC there are 3 separate agility championships--UACH, UACHX and UGRACH. Keith is one leg away from earning his UACHX. He should earn that title during the summer months when UKC trials become available in our area. After that he will start working toward his UGRACH.

MACh Plails Little Bit of Uproar, "Zack"

Aaron is relatively new to the sport of agility, but you would never know it watching him run this dog! This team is extremely focused and dedicated. During his first year of competition Aaron has Zak qualified to try out for the AKC agility World Team. They have a very high success rate and are a very consistent dynamic team. In a few months of competition they earned 14 QQ's and enough points for their first MACh.

MACh ADCh Plails Country Goodness "Jimmy Dean (JD)"

JD and Nancy have been selected to compete on the world agility team this year in the Netherlands. They also won 1st place at the agility nationals this year in the 18 inch height class, first ISC round, and 4th place in the second ISC round, with a second place overall international placement. This is among the stiffest competition in the country. At the great Outdoor Games, they won 1st place in round 2. We are incredibly proud of this team. In addition to all of the accomplishments, JD and Nancy are very close and share a wonderful bond.

MACH Plails Dream Case in Point FM AD NF "Binkie"

Binkie is another Chase son out of Charlie's sister Grunt.  Like all the kids from both Grunt and Chase he is extremely driven and has that go-go-go attitude, running almost 6 yards per second. Binkie competes in Florida where he amazes folks with his speed and drive. Binkie is trying out at the world teami trials. Binkie was co-bred with our friend, Sylvia Brlecic. We are very proud of him.

This is another "Grunt" by Winston kid, owned by Tina Eastmann.  Tina has piloted her dog "Guiness" to the top in the USA agility rankings.  We are excited to watch this pair grow and compete together.

"Owen" is out of Ashley and sired by Austin. He is a very fast agility dog breaking the 5 YPS barrier at his very first trial! "Owen" lives and trains in Taylor Ridge, Illinois. He is owned, trained and loved by Aletha Williams. Thanks Aletha for doing such a wonderful job with Owen!



Plails KETCH the Moment, MX, MXJ "Snap"

Snap is a very fast enthusiastic worker. Snap and Wendy are an amazing team. Snap is a Gabby Daughter, sired by a Chase cousin. At several trials Snap beat all the BC's, and put in the fastest time in jumpers for the day! PLUS..she has the cutest little face and is full of personality.

A Chase daughter out of Gabby.   She is very high drive both on sheep and on the agility equipment.  Chloe won best in sweepstakes as a puppy and will be competing in breed, agility, and herding.  Chloe has resumed her multi-venue career, after her recent litter, and hopefully will follow in her dad's footsteps and become a versatility title holder.

Plails Daisey Chain Meri Chase, MX, AXJ "Summer"

Summer is owned by Agility World Team member Donna Webster-Nelson.  This Chase daughter is a fast, determined worker and a beautiful representation of the breed.  Summer also possesses a great deal of herding ability.  We look forward to watching Donna and Summer work together in the future. This team is now picking up the double Q's needed for the MACh title and for agility nationals.

Billy son out of Abby (a Charlie niece) who is very fast, very responsive, and loves doing agility. One of my favorite comments from a spectator after one of Tango's runs was "That dog is like a Ferrari with long hair." Tango is a joy live with and so much fun to train.

Elaine came into Tempi's life later than most new owners, but that does not lessen her love for him. They very quickly earned their AX and AXJ with first place legs. Elaine also put a herding title on Tempi, and was very fond of him as a youngster, before she owned him. We are eager to watch Elaine and Tempi continue to grow together.

This little speed demon is a Chase daughter. She is owned by Harriet Cash. Harriet calls Callie "Chase's Devil Daughter" because of her devilish-like antics and the various types of trouble Callie has gotten herself into over the years. It is heartwarming to hear Harriet go on and one about the silly/crazy things Callie does (especially at the car wash!) with a smile and look of love only a mother can have!

Harriet and Callie are honorary sheltieranch kids, as while Callie is sired by our chase, she was bred by Meadowmorn shelties. However, Harriet is stuck now...she is way too much fun to be around and we are keeping her !!!!!!!

This Charlie son resides in Canada with Justine Davenport.  Justine has made the 2004 World agility team for Canada.  She returned here to FL to pick her next competition dog.  Justine is 16 and is a very talented, dedicated young handler.


Golden Dream's Little Miss Gabby, CGC, CD, AX, AXJ, NAC, OAC, OJC "Gabby"

Gabby is a Charlie niece.  Her sisters, Abbey & Annie, and her mother Grunt ( Charlie 's sister) have been an important part of our breeding program here at Sheltieranch.  Gabby is a fast agility dog and also enjoys obedience competition with owner/handler Robin Barber.  This pair resides in California where they are competing in multiple venues.

Lorraine is doing a wonderful job with this young dog.  This team recently started trialing and has earned almost all first placements in the Novice and Open classes.


MACH Plails Carbon Copy AAD XF "Beau"

Beau is an Ashley Son, sired by Chases son, Ch Willow Coves Final Answer. Beau comes from a litter of really nice working and conformation dogs who are training and competing throughout the country. His owner, Cynthia Keen, is an AKC agility judge and a heart mate for Beau. They recently started competing and finished their standard and jumpers title in short order. They are also training in obedience. We feel very lucky that Cynthia is moving to Florida and we will be able to see Cynthia and Beau more often!

Lucy is a Chase daughter out of ourGabby.  She is a very fast, athletic girl who loves to work and who loves her people.  Lucy and her handler, Elsa Warren, placed at the Florida DACOF competition.  Elsa & Lucy are made for each other.  Two beautiful, enthusiastic youngsters pouring their hearts out working together.  These two are sure to do great things!


Plails Catch Me If You Can!, MX, MXJ, XF, AAD "Tag"

"Enthusiastic" and "full of attitude" are just a few of the terms people use when seeing Tag compete. This handsome Billy x Abby boy made his debut in June 2006 and wows spectators with his speed and drive. Tag is loved and handled by Jeri Prekop, who is also competing at National levels with her top-ranked sheltie, KC.

2007 16" Finalist Nationals Steeplechase Championship
Cared for by Anne and Jack Stocum, Breeze is a smart, athletic, sweet boy and a very enthusiastic worker who always gives 100 percent. Anne feels lucky to have this talented Billy x Abby pup. At his debut in AKC Excellent, he had the second fastest qualifying time -- with held contacts -- among 86 mini dogs. And in USDAA, Breeze averaged 5.8 yps in achieving his Advanced Jumpers title. Breeze is a primary motivator for Anne's efforts to stay in good shape!

Judy is training Genie in agility and obedience.  Genie will also be shown in conformation and herding.  Genie is an Ashley daughter by CH Macdega Sausalito, ROM.  Her equally beautiful sister Barwoods Katrina is owned by Barbara Thompson.


Ozark Crest Pippin Plail, CDX, AX, AXJ, PT "Pippin"

Pippin is the grandfather of all of the Billy/Abby kids on this page and throughout the country. He is Abby's father. Pippin is a very pretty, very fast, smart eager little guy who jumps in the 12 inch class. He is a natural on sheep and did all of is work , in all venues as fast as possible from the time he was 10 weeks old.
I still see him flying through the play tunnels with a ball in his mouth at 10 weeks old. He is also very pretty and very sound and has turned out to be an important piece of the puzzle that has given us such driven kids in the Billy/Abby combination.


Plails Sonic Waltz, AX, AXJ "Sonic"

Resides here in Florida with Peggy and a crew of fur siblings. Peggy and Sonic recently hit the ring and are doing very well together.
Sonic is sired by Chase's son, Ch Willow Coves Final Answer out of "Ashley". The majority of the litter is in performance homes, and working very nicely.

This "Grunt" daughter is sired by Winston and is owned by Chris Danielly, in Atlanta, GA.  This pair will be training for an agility career. Diva ia a fast, athletic young dog and Chris is doing a wonderful job training and showing her.

Savvy is an amazing athlete with an indomitable spirit. Obvservers always comment on his incredible ground speed, ability to turn on a dime and his enthusiasm. He is a fun, happy boy who loves every person and dog he has ever met. He loves to train, trial and travel and run and play with his fur siblings at home.

Streaker lives in Ohio with Michelle Dalin. For his debut in Open JWW, Streaker ran 5yps on maxtrax. He had the 2nd fastest time for all heights. In an earlier run, in Nov JWW he had the fastest time over all heights. Streaks owner describes him as: amazing, awesome, eager, focused!!






Plails Lucas the Rifleman AX AXJ AD "Lucas"

Marquand and Rebecca Cheek are proud owners of this wonderful companion. We were impressed the Sheltie Ranch line of dogs and their goals for well-bred, athletic Shelties with quality structure, drive, trainability and breed type. Lucas is quite a character and loaded with personality. He is a third generation Chase dog born in a litter of five on May, 5th, 2005 (5/5/05!). His sire is Am/Can Ch. Sanddollar's Sonic Boom and his dam is Donna Webster-Nelson's
Joy (Plails Jumpin' for Joy O'Eire) who is a full sister to Nina's jet. Lucas The Rifleman is named after the 1960's Western TV series starring Chuck Connors.
Lucas loves people, dogs, tugging, playing and just being with us. He shows promise in the agility ring and should earn many titles along the way. Thanks to Nina and Donna on this wonderful little dog who makes us smile every day.

Billie is a female out of Billy x Abby.
Randall is the proud owner of this little speed demon. He tells us that.... Billie has excellent drive and enthusiasm coupled with a structure that is built for speed. We are looking forward to a fun filled life together.






Royal Hill's Shades of Silver CD OA AXJ PT "VC" (ptd) "Shade"

Shade was reared at the Sheltie Ranch and has 5 points from limited showing in the puppy classes. He quickly earned his CD in obedience, his PT in herding and his OA and AXJ in agility, all in the first four years of his life at the Sheltie Ranch. Shade does everything with enthusiasm and a joy for the work. At only 2 years of age, he completed the requirements for the ASSA versatility certificate. Now at age 4, Shade has gone to Betty Rose in Oregon where his primary job will be in the Rally and Obedience rings. He will also finish his breed Championship in Oregon. Betty adores this spunky little guy who loves his ball and is always ready to do anything.

Hazard is another small sheltie, who is a very intense little girl. Bud is a very experienced trainer who will now visit the 12 inch height class with this baby girl. We are excited about the future of these two.

"Logan" is a Winnie x Annie kid. He is owned and loved by Linda Woodbury in Sarasota , FL. Linda is an experienced agility competitor. She and Logan are off to a great start. Logan has a big sheltie brother named Tristan. Tristan and Linda compete at the advanced levels in agility.

This fast little guy is owned by Deb Knowles. Deb and Dobe were trialing while I was judging in the Carolinas. I did not know they were going to be there and I had not seen either of them for 2 years. While judging I had my socks knocked off by a FAST, accurate, agile sable sheltie and made a note to find his owner and see if I could breed to him....well...turns out it was Dobe all grown up and looking much different than the 4 month old pup who left 2 years ago. This is a very fast very athletic young dog who was obviously traveling at world class speed...and then some! Deb has done a great job with this boy!

This Billy x Grunt pup is owned by Lori Sage who says about her:

Yes, I did name this cute little girl "Newman"!!!!! I like to be original and creative in naming my kids. Plus, I've never seen another Newman on the running order. Newman had her first AKC agility trial over the weekend of Sept 30, 2006. After only 4 trials she has earned both her Open Standard and Open JWW titles and earned her first Exc A Standard leg. We train with Daisy Peel of Jumpstart Agility in Beavercreek, Oregon.

Newman lives with 2 sheltie siblings and a few poms as well..she spends her time trying to rule to roost! She does not seem to know she is a tiny little thing as she wants to be the BIG BOSS.

Press and Barb Baron travel between Canada and Florida each year, doing several venues of agility. Press resides with his big brother "Benni" and two papillon sisters in Barb's very dedicated dog family. Barb and Preston started out their agility career her in Florida this fall by running a 45 second novice JWW course clean in 17 seconds. Preston is an incredibly driven little dog who gives 100% of his intensity on every inch of the course. Barb has done a great job training him.

This is another Billy daughter out of Abby. Like nearly all of the Billy/Abby kids, Meadow is a fast little girl. This is Tosha's first agility dog and she has done a wonderful job with her foundation training. We look forward to watching these two in the ring next season.

"Sadie" is a Billy X Abby puppy. she is very pretty and VERY driven like most of her littermates. Sadie is owned and trained by Jennie Gareson in Georgia. Prior to owning Sadie, Jennie trained and handled Afghans. Jennie and are offto a great start and are a fast, enthusiastic team.

Kela is another Billy x Abby kid. She is owned by Monica Ross in Orlando. Kela and Monica are training in agility and herding. Kela has her fist two stated legs in herding and will return for the title at the next Florida trials. Monica and I are discussing a possible breeding in the spring.

Chloe (a Chase daughter) x CH Redfield Two Thumbs Up, AX, AXJ, HIC. Keegan's owner Clara tells us: Keegan is my "wizard". Working with him, whether in agility or obedience, is magical. He loves the work in spite of a stubborn streak that pops out at times. He's very quick to learn and fast on his paws. He likes to continually try new things. Needless to say, he keeps me on my toes.
We are just now starting back in agility, and we have started tracking.

Jamie a Billy x Abby girl. Jamie is a very driven girl in agility. She is teaching her mom a new thing everyday. Jamie recieved her RE and CD we good scores and placements. We are now working on our open, utility and more agility. Should be fun seeing mom has never done Utility work before. Jamie is such a joy and a very big challenge.

Jet spent her first four years at the Sheltie Ranch where she earned her CD in obedience and trialed in agility earning her first two agility titles, and two legs on her open title. She had two litters at the Sheltie Ranch before moving to Oregon to be Betty Rose’s partner in Obedience and Rally. Jet is a natural obedience worker who shows enthusiasm and love of work in everything she does. She has earned her Rally Novice title in Oregon and is on her way to the upper levels in both Rally & Obedience in AKC and UKC. She is dearly loved by Betty who is a wonderful dog mom and companion for Jet.

A handsome tri boy from Dash X Prince - from Toronto, ON Canada
Story Behind Name: 'Brigs' is named to honour the memory of a great hero - a brave police horse named 'Brigadier' who was tragically killed while on duty by a hit and run driver in the streets of Toronto in 2006.
Occupation: Up and coming agility star. Brigs is a spitfire who loves his agility classes!
Home Life: Brigs shares his home with 2 Sheltie step-siblings: 'Casey' (2004 & 2005 Canadian Team member at FCI Worlds) and 'Flicka', as well as his good natured cat 'Hammer'.
Brig's Motto to Live By: YEEE HAAWWWW!
